The modern kitchen design changes from decade to decade… or maybe even by half a decade of late! So what do you do when you’re faced with a kitchen remodel? Do you go for the latest and greatest, or try to do something a little more classic so it lasts? And if you choose classic, does it really last? Even classic all-white kitchens change in design, going from raised panel doors, to flat panel, to who knows what in the future.

So how do you choose? I say go for what you love! Try to keep an open mind to new trends, but maybe go for them in small doses, like a trendy backsplash, or the latest of paint colours. Then it’s easier to change things up as you change your vision based on the latest and the greatest. And if you say you don’t go for trends, who still likes those dark raised panel oak cabinets of the 80s anymore? They can be updated, but you know, we do change our likes with enough time.
