Virtual Consultation Preparation Guide
For best results, please prepare the following before we meet
Have your phone/iPad fully charged, with your charger nearby should it start to fade
Check that the video and audio are both set to be on and working properly
I will send a Zoom invite for connecting
Have the Benjamin Moore site open - the search button is on the far right for any recommendations
In advance of us meeting:
send images of every room in your home/office/exterior…, not just the room or space we are discussing. This helps me understand your home and how you live and if there are perhaps some pieces of furniture that can be moved around
Please send them in a larger size format so I can zoom as needed
Send as many emails as needed to get them all to me – torontodesigners@rogers.com
Please send them at least an hour before we meet so I have time to download them - the day before is even better
Send a floor plan of the space if you have one
Send your Pinterest or Houzz boards with your inspiration photos - if you don’t have one, you can always start one for this session as it will be helpful
Feel free to include images of yourself as well so I can always remember who you are! :)
How to take your photos
Stand back as far as you can and get at least two shots of each space, one from each side
Don’t clean or tidy for these photos as it is best for me to see how you live on a daily basis for my best recommendations
Don’t worry, I won’t share these photos with anyone and they are so helpful for me to understand who you are
When we start the consult, after our introductions, I would like for you to walk me through your house/office/exterior… slowly, flowing from the front door and moving through each space, including going up and down any stairs, angling the camera up and down as needed for me to get a good sense of your space
Have a measuring tape handy, if available, as I may ask for a few measurements as you walk through
Once we’ve ‘walked’ through your spaces, it would be best to find a place that you can settle down to talk – a desk or table works well – and have papers and pen handy, for all the things we discuss. If there were things we discussed while ‘walking’ through your space, I will try to recap that so you can take notes as needed (some people just remember, but others like to write it down). Alternatively, I can also type these notes up as we discuss things to forward to you
My time will start once we are on the phone – first two hours are $459 + HST, going down to $110 per hour in 15-minute increments for extra time (payment before the consult will be expected for the first two hours for new clients) - as soon as the payment is made for the first two hours, you will receive several documents, including those that explain how to receive designer discounts where available
eTransfer is expected before the initial consult and I will provide you with a password
My responsibilities before we meet
I will have all your images opened on my computer for quick reference
I will email you all the documents I typically print and include in a portfolio before we start so we can refer to those as needed, and at the end of the consultation
I will send the Zoom meeting information at least an hour before we meet
