zoom is voyeurism at its best

There are so many things I love about my job as a designer, and there is one aspect that now you too, with your Zoom chats, can get a glimpse of - seeing how other people live and what their spaces look like!! To me, nothing says more about a person than their homes, and now you can see that little part of my job too. I’m going to call it a small positive aspect of our self isolation. Don’t you find that this is now suddenly allowing some two dimensional people in our lives to become three dimensional?…. they too have messy spots (see my office here below), animals that jump into their laps, and kids that scream in the background. I’m really loving seeing how so many others live, even if it’s only a small part of what they choose to show.

So I’m now sharing parts of MY home too. Some of you have seen my office backdrop on our virtual calls, but I’ve decided to share a little more because I am grateful…. SO grateful for,

  • my three bedroom home where both my husband and I each have a separate office in one of the two secondary bedrooms

  • my backyard that has mature trees and a deck with comfy furniture

  • my living room where we can binge on Netflix and other fun stuff

  • the eating area in my kitchen that gives me space to read the paper away from everything else

  • and my basement, where after my kids moved out, I made myself a yoga room

Would you too care to share a space or two of your homes that you are grateful for? Feel free to attach photos in the comments section below. You know I would love to see everyone’s spaces again!

**By the way, my $50 One-Room Makeover Super Special (that’s the link) is still active, so take advantage while it’s still available. Several clients have used this service already, and it just made me so happy to know that it helped them out in these difficult times. It’s not for everyone, but if not for you, maybe for a friend?
