making the most of a rental bathroom
Rental bathrooms can often be quite nasty, but there is always hope! A good cleaning, perhaps some re-caulking, and a few creative ideas can take you from ugly to fabulous! Check out these brilliant ideas that you can use not only for your rental, but also until the time comes that you can afford a full reno for your own home.
Add some pretty pieces to distract the eye from the ugly. Here a rug, wood tray and a plant add much needed warmth.
Don't forget to include some furniture to add storage and help break up what you don't have control over.
Simply adding bold geometrics and prints makes you forget the boring.
The Raskog cart from Ikea is one of my favourite pieces for anywhere in the house, and is really practical in the bathroom for all sorts of things.
Inexpensive picture ledges are perfect for all the smaller items you store in your bathroom. Get creative and use them as display as well.
Floating shelves give you a spot to store or display your items for your own personal character.
Add a stunning shower curtain and wooden mat to camouflage anything you don't like.
Add warm touches with rustic wood.
Add special hooks, possibly hung on a simple DIY like this one.
Don't be afraid to splurge on the best towels you can afford.
Even if you don't bathe often, a bathtub caddy is a great place to store your shampoos and adds that hit of warmth. Consider cedar wood for a fresh scent every time it gets wet.
One of my favourite ideas is to cut out vinyl flooring to cover a floor you don't love.
Add tile stickers for instant upscale drama!
Plants! Need I say more?
And if you can paint, go for something dramatic so that the new colour becomes the focal point.
