2021 trends

I like to always have a few words about where I think trends are heading for the new year. And this year is like no other! While we live through a pandemic, our surroundings are now even more important than ever. So go ahead and embrace your personal spaces and make them what you have always wanted. Will it include a few new trends this year?

Here are my predictions for what you might be seeing more of in 2021 in point form, and in the images below.

Shopping local - say hello to Canada and all we have to offer!
Black kitchens - such a bold trend to embrace but also so easy to use in small or large doses since it’s not really a colour.
Wow factor pieces - one or two statement pieces go a long way in upping the look of a space this year.
Wicker - I recently did a whole blog about this fun new trend that adds so much warmth.
Curved furniture - we’ve been seeing this for a while now and the new Crate & Barrel line by Leanne Ford has some great pieces.
Colour - Yes, go ahead and continue to add some colour to your spaces. Choose your favourite so it always feels good to you.
Florals - I see a bit more of this ‘granny’ look in home decor this year. It almost feels like a warm hug.
Carved out home offices - this one goes without say this year. I did a blog about this recently too.
Scent - Diffusers can stay please, with your favourite scent being used to invoke the perfect mood. Scent is such a strong mood enhancer.
Beige - I have been suggesting this for a while now, but I think this year it will really take off. We always need warmth, and perhaps this year, more than ever!
